![]() ![]() ![]() If you want a nice surprise, however, try the mussels steamed in Corona, or their warm chips and awesome salsa! (Chips and salsa are complimentary, and old-timers know to help themselves to seconds if the waitress doesn't offer!) I wouldn't recommend this place as a destination if you are looking for an authentic Mexican meal. The sides are an after-thought, with bland refried beans and boxed Mexican-style rice. That isn't to say their food is bad, because it isn't! The apps are all pretty tasty, and we are fond of the oven baked burrito. It's a great little place with a friendly bar, good selection of beer and tequila, and a killer margarita! I will be upfront and say I don't go there for the food there are many other restaurants that do Mexican better however, the atmosphere, the staff, make up for any shortcomings in the kitchen. I would love to go back, but not so sure now.Tortilla Flat has been a mainstay of Merrimack for over 20 years. Had this been my first visit I would have rated this as TERRIBLE, hopefully Tortilla Flat Management can use this review as constructive critisism and effect positive change. I complained to Sarah and she was indifferent, on top of that our empty plates were never removed after we had finished our meal, the waitress was obviously an amateur and should seek employment elsewhere, as we will be seeking out Mexican food elsewhere as well, hopefully Sarah does not find employment at any other restaurant that I frequent. I ordered one of the specials, a taco with a hard shell wrapped in a soft shell tortilla, the taste was very good but the steak was gristly. We visited early on a Friday evening in February and were seated promptly, our server was Sarah D. ![]() I had been very happy with Tortilla Flat, I have found the food and the service to be very good in the past, however during my most recent visit in February I found both the food and service not acceptable. ![]()
